The Book of James

May 27, 2018 - July 22, 2018

The Book of James is full of practical and challenging insight from James, half-brother of Jesus, that will help every believer grow in their faith and strengthen their walk with Christ.

Week 4: Faith and Deeds

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2:14-17

Week 3: Favoritism Forbidden

My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment. James 2:1, 12-13

Week 2: Listening and Doing

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
James 1:22

Week 1: Trials and Temptations

We all face trials and we will all be tempted. Understanding where trials and temptations come from and how to overcome them is the main topic of James’ powerful, opening statements. Let’s become all God’s created us to be by learning have to overcome everything the world throws at us.
