ONE for ONE Crosses $10,000 Mark!

Posted on: April 27, 2012

Hey Rock City!

Today, I couldn’t be more proud to be your pastor! Here’s a few reasons why …

1. Last weekend 16 people got on their mark. That’s amazing!

2. Just since January 1st, more than 120 people have made a decision to get on their mark and follow Jesus during one of our weekend services! The magnitude of that number is mind blowing. Especially when we’re told in Scripture that the angels of God break out into a massive and wild celebration every time just one person gets on their mark. No doubt, there’s been a continuous party going on in heaven because of the faithfulness and generosity of the people of Rock City Church. You are making an eternal difference!

3. Also, I can’t wait for this weekend because ONE for ONE is going to cross the $10,000 mark! That means, since January 1st, Rock City Church has given more than $10,000 through ONE for ONE to meet specific local and global ministry needs. We’ve assisted single parent families, we’re partnered with CRACK House Ministries, we’ve helped to support churches around the world, we’ve helped to plant nearly 100 brand new churches through our partnership with ARC … and that’s just the start!

4. This weekend ONE for ONE will cross the $10,000 mark when we present a check to GraceHaven, a ministry dedicated to rescuing and restoring the youngest victims of child sex trafficking. An estimated 100,000 children in the U.S. are exploited in the commercial sex trade. The average age of entry into forced prostitution for girls is 12 to 14 years. In Ohio, more than 1,000 children were sex-trafficking victims in 2009, according to a report by the Ohio Trafficking in Persons Study Commission. I am so proud to be a part of a church that is not afraid to talk about issues that nobody else wants to talk about. I’m so proud to be a part of a church that seeks to make a real difference no matter what it costs and no matter how inconvenient it might be.

This weekend is going to be amazing. It’s the final week of Because Normal Isn’t Working and we’re finishing this series out with a powerful and convicting message about what it looks like to live a life of extraordinary love. I guarantee that you will be challenged this weekend to step it up an notch and begin loving people the way Jesus loves people.

See you Sunday!
